One Person One Vote
This has to be our new mantra. We cannot continue to allow minority rule that enables the corporatocracy. One Person One Vote does not require a constitutional amendment.
Popular vote for the president can be achieved through state laws with the interstate compact for national popular vote.

Statehood for Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico with an emphasis on the fact that it is a race issue. Not allowing US Citizens the vote because of the color of there skin is an idea whose time has passed.
Ex felons who have served their time should be allowed to vote. Again this is a race issue affecting minorities disproportionately.
Students must be allowed to vote where they are attending school. They are there for 4, 6, or more years. Can you say the same about someone working a job? Maybe they will get laid off and leave in under 5 years. Still they vote. Students must be allowed to vote.
Proportional representation in the House and Senate. We can still have at least one representative and 2 senators from every state. Wyoming is the least populated state with 574,00 population. Wyomings senators get one vote each. Wyoming’s representative gets 57 votes. Everyone else gets the number of votes required to be fair to their constituency.
California has 39,145,00 population. It’s just division. 39,145,000/574,000 = 68 rounded down to the nearest whole number. So California senators get 68 votes each. This is only fair to their constituency. Why should a citizen of Wyoming have 68 times as much power in the Senate as a citizen of California?
Same thing with representatives. You vote your constituency divided by 10,000 votes. So the Wyoming representative gets 57 votes representing 574,00 people. The Montana representative gets 99 votes representing 994,000 people. This is only fair to the people in Montana. Why should the people in Wyoming have almost twice as much say in the house as the people in Montana?

This does not require a constitutional amendment. Pass the law. The courts will give deference to the legislature making it’s own rules. It’s the separation of powers.
One Person One Vote is fundamental to the idea of democracy. Most people think that One Person One Vote is the way things should be.
There are undoubtedly many other ways in which One Person One Vote can be strengthened. I am just touching a few high points. Please post your One Person One Vote suggestions in the comments.
None of these issues will be easy to achieve. But we should all be advocating for them all the time. Ii’s what we have to do to stop minority rule giving power to the corporatacracy. Each idea will have to be fought for at the local, state, and national level.
We need a song!
